Muharram calls for unity, resistance, and stand against oppression: Raja Nasir

Pakistani senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas said: Muharram invites us to put aside our petty differences and pledge unity, patience, perseverance, and a joint struggle against the oppressor.

AhlulBayt News Agency: On the onset of Muharram 1447 AH, Chairman of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Pakistan and Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri issued a powerful message urging Muslims to rise above sectarian differences and unite in the spirit of Karbala.

He emphasized that the crescent of Muharram once again reminds the Muslim world of the eternal message of Imam Hussain (A.S.) — a message rooted in truth, justice, and resistance against tyranny.

“All around the world, the Muslim Ummah faces trials, aggression, and sectarian strife,” he stated. “The sacred month of Muharram calls on us to put aside our minor disagreements and pledge unity, patience, and joint struggle against all forms of oppression.”

Allama Raja Nasir Abbas underscored that Karbala is not just a historical event but a timeless lesson that defines the stance between the oppressor and the oppressed in every era. “Standing against tyranny, in any form, is a fundamental duty of faith. The survival of any nation lies in unity and mutual respect.”

He warned that the enemies of Islam aim to weaken the Muslim Ummah by fueling sectarianism, ethnic hatred, and prejudice. However, he affirmed that the message of Imam Hussain (A.S.) is clear: the strength of the Ummah lies in its unity.

In his message, Allama Jafri also called upon all Muslims to make the following commitments during this Muharram:

  • Refrain from disrespecting any sect, school of thought, or belief system;
  • Preserve the sanctity of mosques, Imambargahs, and all places of worship;
  • Raise a united voice for the oppressed around the world, particularly in Palestine, Lebanon, Kashmir, Yemen, and other regions;
  • Resist the divisive agendas of anti-Islamic forces by safeguarding the unity of the Muslim Ummah.

He concluded with a prayer that this Muharram brings awakening, unity, the triumph of truth, and the downfall of oppression for the Muslim world. "May Allah accept our efforts and guide us toward justice and solidarity — Ameen."
