Israeli soldier’s mother criticizes government for rejecting full hostage deal

The mother of an Israeli captive accused the government of refusing a full hostage deal, prolonging military operations. She lamented that soldiers continue to die despite an opportunity for their release. Hamas maintains that Israel has rejected a comprehensive exchange agreement.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The mother of an Israeli soldier held captive in Gaza has criticized the Israeli occupation government, accusing it of refusing a comprehensive deal for the release of captives.

Anat Angrest, mother of soldier Matan Angrest, expressed her frustration in an interview with “ynet,” stating that "things that could happen are not happening."

She explained that Hamas has offered a full exchange deal, but Israel continues to insist on a partial agreement while maintaining its military operations.

“The hardest thing to digest,” she said, “is that Hamas is telling us to take everyone, and we don’t want to, instead continuing the fight.”

She further described the emotional difficulty of witnessing soldiers being killed and wounded in battle while there is a real opportunity to bring her son home.

Currently, an estimated 58 Israeli captives remain held by Palestinian resistance forces in Gaza.
