AhlulBayt News Agency: The Israeli military has launched a series of airstrikes on Hudaydah and Salif ports in western Yemen, as Yemeni armed forces continue their operations in support of Palestinians amid the Gaza war.
According to Yemen’s al-Masirah television, the attacks struck strategic targets at the ports, though further details were not provided.
Reports indicate that the strikes killed at least one person and injured nine others, with Yemeni health authorities warning that the death toll could rise.
In a statement, the Israeli army confirmed that dozens of military aircraft, including fighter jets, refuelers, and spy planes, were involved in the operation.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also acknowledged the attack, vowing to intensify strikes against the Ansarullah resistance movement, including its leadership and infrastructure.
The airstrikes came a day after Yemeni Armed Forces claimed responsibility for an operation against Ben Gurion International Airport, located southeast of Tel Aviv.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesperson for Yemen’s military, stated that Yemeni missile units targeted the Israeli facility with a homegrown hypersonic ballistic missile.
Saree emphasized that the retaliatory strike successfully forced hundreds of thousands of settlers into shelters.
As the Gaza war escalates, Yemen has enacted a strategic blockade on key maritime routes, aiming to disrupt military supplies to Israel and urge international intervention in the humanitarian crisis.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have declared that their operations will continue until Israel halts its ground and aerial offensives in Gaza
