Israeli criminal regime threatens to assassinate Yemen’s Ansarullah leader

Israel has threatened to assassinate Yemen’s Ansarullah leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi. Yemen vows to continue its strikes despite Israeli threats. Resistance groups condemn Israel’s assassination policy.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Israeli regime has threatened to assassinate Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, the leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement, if Sana’a continues its missile strikes against strategic Israeli targets.

Posting on X on Friday, Israel’s Minister for Military Affairs Israel Katz warned that Yemen would suffer “painful blows” if its operations persisted. He also stated that Tel Aviv would target “heads of terror”, referring to Ansarullah’s designation as a terrorist organization by Israel and its allies.

Katz compared the potential assassination of al-Houthi to Israel’s previous targeted killings of Mohammed Deif and Yahya Sinwar, senior figures in Hamas. He also referenced the assassinations of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah’s former secretary-general, and Ismail Haniyeh, Hamas’ former Political Bureau chief.

Ansarullah has yet to respond to Katz’s remarks.

Under al-Houthi’s leadership, Yemen has carried out numerous strikes against Israeli targets since October 2023, when Tel Aviv launched its war on Gaza. These operations have expanded to include naval and aerial blockades against Israel.

The blockades have significantly impacted Israel’s economy, increasing the cost of delivering commodities to occupied territories and repeatedly targeting Ben Gurion Airport.

Israel has responded by escalating its attacks on Yemen. However, Yemen’s Armed Forces have vowed to continue their strikes as long as Israel maintains its war and siege on Gaza.

Regional resistance groups have asserted that Israel’s assassinations of senior officials only strengthen their resolve to enhance their defensive capabilities and unity.
