AhlulBayt News Agency: The Yemeni Armed Forces launched two distinct retaliatory operations targeting the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier and its escorts in the Red Sea, as well as a critical position deep within Israeli-occupied territories. These actions followed fresh acts of aggression by the United States against Yemen.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, the spokesperson for Yemen’s military, announced on Monday that Yemeni naval and air force units collaborated in striking the Nimitz-class carrier and other American warships. The operation employed domestically-produced cruise and ballistic missiles alongside combat drones.
The attacks compelled the USS Harry S. Truman and its escorts to retreat northward. Saree stated that the operation was a response to deadly US airstrikes targeting Yemen’s capital Sana’a and a migrant detention center in Sa’ada, a northwestern city.
The military spokesperson emphasized that Yemen’s Armed Forces would continue targeting hostile warships in the Red and Arabian Seas, including US vessels, unless the aggression against Yemen ends.
Additionally, Saree reported that Yemeni drone units launched a strike using a domestically-developed Yaffa unmanned aerial vehicle on a strategic site in Ashkelon, located in the southern Israeli-occupied territories.
Saree highlighted that the retaliatory actions were carried out in solidarity with Palestinians suffering under Israel’s ongoing genocidal war in the Gaza Strip.
He underscored Yemen's commitment to preventing the navigation of Israeli-affiliated vessels in the Red and Arabian Seas, confronting US aggression, and supporting Palestinians in Gaza until the onslaught ceases and the siege is fully lifted.
In response to the atrocities committed by Israel in Gaza and the aggression by the US and UK in Yemen, the Yemeni Armed Forces initiated targeted strikes against Israeli, American, and British interests in the Red Sea region and adjacent areas.
As the situation in Gaza escalates, Yemen has imposed a strategic blockade on crucial maritime routes. This move aims to disrupt military supply chains to Israel while urging the international community to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Yemen’s Armed Forces reiterated their intention to continue retaliatory operations until Israel halts its ground and aerial attacks in Gaza.
