Grand Mufti of al-Quds warns against destruction of Qurans with printing errors in Palestine

The Grand Mufti of al-Quds and Palestine warned against the distribution of Qurans with printing errors in Palestine.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Grand Mufti of al-Quds and Palestine warned against the distribution of Qurans with printing errors in Palestine.

Sheikh Muhammad Hussein called for the delivery of these copies to the Dar al-Ifta (Fatwa office), pnn.ps website reported.

In these copies, there is a gap in the pages from page 412 of Surah Luqman to page 443 of Surah Yasin, and also after page 475 of Surah Ghafir, page 444 of Surah Yasin appears, he noted.

Sheikh Muhammad Hussein explained that this edition was published by the ‘Ataa Allah’ Printing House in Cairo, Egypt, with license number 56 dated 21/7/2019 from the Al-Azhar Islamic Research Academy.

He asked libraries, printing houses, and individuals who possess this copy of the Quran to hand it over to the Palestinian Dar al-Ifta so that necessary actions can be taken regarding it.

He also emphasized the necessity of maintaining accuracy in printing the Quran, especially when using the rapid photocopying method in some printing houses.

So far, several copies of the Quran with printing errors have been observed in Palestine. Previously, in a copy of the Quran published by Al-Tawfiqia Publishing House with the permission of the Al-Azhar Islamic Research Center, pages 132 to 163 were incomplete. In another copy from a German-Egyptian printing house with the permission of the Al-Azhar Research Center, the word “Ja’alnahu” was mistakenly printed as “Jaqalnahu” in Verse 2 of Surah Al-Isra.
