Israel seeks to resume invasion of Gaza: Osama Hamdan

A senior Hamas leader has said that the Israeli regime is violating the ceasefire agreement in a systematic way and is seeking to renew its invasion against the Gaza Strip.

AhlulBayt News Agency: A senior Hamas leader has said that the Israeli regime is violating the ceasefire agreement in a systematic way and is seeking to renew its invasion against the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli cabinet has been seeking the defeat of the agreement, taking different measures in this regard, Osama Hamdan was cited as saying by Palestine’s Shahab news agency on Monday.

He referred to Israel’s blocking of 50 fuel trucks into Gaza everyday and the entry of construction materials for reconstruction of hospitals which he said runs counter to the agreement.

Hamdan said that only 15 prefabricated houses out of the 65,000 agreed ones have entered the enclave and 116 Palestinians were killed while the first phase of the ceasefire agreement was in place.

He also referred to 210 cases of Israeli violation of Gaza’s air space in recent days, criticizing the regime for preventing the return of Palestinian refugees to their hometowns.

The Hamas official called for international pressure on Israel for entering into the second phase of the ceasefire agreement, noting that an immediate beginning of this phase is the only way for Israel to secure the release of its prisoners.

The first phase of the agreement, which lasted for 42 days, came to an end on Saturday. While Israel has called for the extension of this phase, Hamas insists on switching to the second phase which would be the real end of the war.
