Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen and Shia Ulema Council have demanded immediate release of those innocent Shia youths who were taken into custody from different areas of Rawalpindi by police.
Allama Ashfaq Waheedi of the SUC said that Shia Muslims are peace-loving patriot Pakistanis. He said that Shiites always cooperated with the government in maintenance of peace and order but the biased Punjab government was trying to deteriorate the peaceful situation of Pindi like other cities.
He warned that if the innocent Shia youths were not released, government and local administration would be held responsible for the consequences.
On the other hand, Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi of the MWM also warned the government of a protest campaign if the Shiites were not released. He said that PMLN government at the Centre and in Punjab never recognized the Sunni and Shia Muslims and their representative parties.
He said that PMLN was hijacked by the takfiris who always tried to protect the Taliban-mindset. He said that PMLN government was under deal with banned Sipah-e-Sahaba and Lashkar-e-Jhangvi due to which the rulers were trying to please their takfiri allies by such unjustifiable biased raids on innocent citizens.
