Days after Muslim groups slammed the Shahi Imam of Delhi’s Jama Masjid saying he cannot influence Muslim voters, another Shia cleric on Monday appealed to all the Shias to completely boycott the Congress in the Lok Sabha poll.
“Appeal to all Shias to completely boycott Congress, I would even ask other Muslims,” said Maulana Kalbe Jawaad, Shia cleric.
Annoyed with the Congress for treating Muslims as a mere vote bank, Kalbe Jawaad said that the party had done nothing for his community. He also said that they had been exploiting the Muslims for their personal gains.
Kalbe Jawaad further added that the party had become arrogant and considered Muslims as its servants and that there were more riots in the Congress regime than any other party.
The move comes days after Imam Syed Ahmed Bukhari’s younger brother Yahya Bukhari vowed to soon expose the secret deal between Shahi Imam and Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
“I am not a leader, so won’t issue an appeal but will make a request and put forth my views on Congress in front of them. First of all, Congress claims it has done so much for Muslims but let it prove what it has done in the last 10 years. Give me a single example what kind of protection was given toMuslims,” he said.
