(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The Lebanese prime minister said in remarks published Monday that his cabinet was doing its best to prevent Sunni-Shiite strife in the country.“Without our cabinet’s disassociation policy, the Sunni-Shiite violence would have been worse, because it is [well-known] that the Lebanese are divided into allies of the Syrian regime and sympathizers with the rebels,” Najib Miqati said in an interview with French newspaper Le Figaro.Miqati also reiterated his condemnation of the Israeli aggression against the Gaza strip and said that Hezbollah would not engage itself in it.“Hezbollah signed the Baabda agreement in June, which is designed to immunize Lebanon against the importation of the Syrian conflict, but also to preserve Lebanon’s neutrality in case of any possible war between Iran and Israel,” the premier added./129
