(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - A number of Muslim girls in Britain started distributing a thousand white flowers together with a thousand pieces of paper that include noble prophetic traditions (Hadiths) among non-Muslim pedestrians in London streets, considering it a peaceful means to defend the Messenger (p.) after screening the blasphemous anti-Islam movie.
The girls who initiated this initiative said that this idea of defending the Messenger (p.) by distributing white flowers and not demonstrating actually emanated from the spirit of Islam that embodies a message of love, peace and guidance.
It is worth mentioning that the distributed prophetic traditions touch on the issues of love, peace, treating the parents kindly and helping people.
The girls distributing the flowers would call out in English on the passersby “Free flowers”, so some people would actually approach them, take the flower along with the piece of paper and read the Hadiths inside. One of the participants said that the idea of the campaigns evolved on Facebook and that it is intended to defend Islam through peace and love; the language by which the Messenger (p.) recommended us to address the others, and not through protests and demonstrations.
She added: “We wrote on the pieces of paper some Hadiths by the Messenger (p.) to convey to the entire world the true message of Islam and the Prophet (p.) who used to treat back his enemies with forgiveness, compassion, love and guidance.” She continued to say: “We buy the roses from our own money and we distribute them for free, and we are not supported by any parties or receive any donations; rather, we, as the participants in the campaign, participated in buying the roses and printing the papers.
