(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Imam Khamenei said on Sunday that the Islamic Awakening in the region has been unprecedented since the Islamic Revolution.
Imam Khamenei made the remarks addressing the Heads of the three Branches of Government, Chairman of Iran's Assembly of Leadership Experts, a number of Iranian parliament members and military commanders, and many other senior officials of the Islamic Republic.
Imam Khamenei stated that the Islamic Republic has proved that it can thwart all the plots hatched by the enemies of the country, noting: “We faced many threats during the past 32 years; political threats, security threats, military threats, and economic threats.”
Imam Khamenei also mentioned the people's trust in the Islamic Republic as another point of strength for the country, saying that there are not many countries in the world whose people have such a great deal of confidence in the government.
Imam Khamenei also hailed Iran's steady progress despite the sanctions against Iran as another point of strength for the country, stating that the country's advancements have frustrated the pressures imposed by the West on the Islamic Republic.
“Today, the Islamic Republic of Iran is known as a respected, influential, and credible country in the arena of international politics,” Imam Khamenei said.
Imam Khamenei also spoke about the deteriorating image of the United States in the Middle East, noting that Washington is also facing serious challenges at home, including a deepening economic crisis.
