(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The convoy - carrying activists from India, Pakistan, Iran, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Bahrain and Azerbaijan as well as Kuwait, Lebanon and Jordan - is to reach Gaza Strip.
Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi in his message to the people onboard of the ship said, "Your move will be recorded in the history forever."
"Once the issue of Israel was an Arab-Islamic matter, but now it has turned into a global subject," he added.
"Although I am not physically amongst you, my heart is with you all your journey long, and I hope this visit will be effective in the awakening of the human community and disgrace of the usurpers and sympathizers of the Zionist regime."
He also expressed hope that the move would set an example for the emancipation of humans from oppressors and occupiers across the world.
A number of 55 activists accompany the Asian Gaza Solidarity Caravan, organized by the Asian People's Solidarity for Palestine, a coalition of social movements, trade unions and civil society institutions of the region.
The convoy will carry medical aid and donate two ambulances to the authorities in Palestine.
The Asian peace activists hope that the move would provide a good opportunity for breaking the siege of Gaza.
Accompanied by a group of Iranian lawmakers, the convoy was scheduled to arrive at the Rafah crossing in late December to deliver its cargo of the much needed medical and relief supplies for the impoverished people in Gaza.
