GAZA (AhlulBayt News Agency) - The Islamic Resistance Movement in Gaza (Hamas) said photos taken by Israeli soldiers harassing bound Palestinians during the last war against Gaza, which were later posted on Facebook, attest to Israel’s criminal approach.
Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said in a press statement on Monday: “These images confirm the organized terrorism which [Israel] practices on the Palestinian people under the shadow of absence of deterring resolutions and weak Arab stands effective in isolating [Israel] and prosecuting its leaders.”
A group of Israelis posted on a website Sunday night images showing Israeli soldiers harassing Palestinians while they were being detained during Israel’s war on the Gaza Strip, in a scene that violates the most basic rights and dignity of humans. The images have gained wide attention on television and the internet without impunity.
Barhoum said Israel currently exists in a state of “riot and muscle-flexing” in light of unlimited U.S. support and the absence of international justice and resolutions to deter it.
He added that the unarmed Palestinian people have paid the price for the continued international policy of double standards.
Speaking on the role of human rights groups in defending the rights of detainees, Barhoum said: “These conventions have been made to be implemented on weak countries, and at the same time provide protection to powerful countries and to [Israel],” adding that neither organizations or conventions have protected any Palestinian child exposed to Zionist terrorism.
