AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Qalibaf, in his pre-agenda speech at the public session on Sunday, September 20, referring to the anniversary of the start of the imposed war and Sacred Defense Week, stated, “The Sacred Defense is not merely a re-reading of a historical memory, but a lived experience for safeguarding independence and national honor against the enemy's onslaught.”
Stating that the form of defense today has become more fluid and deeper than in the past, he added, “The resistance of the Iranian people during the eight years of Sacred Defense ignited the engine of self-confidence and independence of the country, and today as well, the steadfastness of the Iranian nation, in addition to ensuring the country's security, can pave the way for the formation of a new order in the region and openings in economic and strategic areas.”
Qalibaf also, referring to the start of the school year, considered the school one of the pillars of national deterrence and said, “We will not allow the enemy's illusions to slow the pulse of the country's life, production, and knowledge.”
War and Negotiation; A Duality That Is Not Real
The Speaker of the Parliament continued, referring to two strategic errors in the country's political and elite atmosphere, saying, “One view, by rejecting interaction and diplomacy, without providing a mechanism for an authoritative end to the war, leads the country toward erosion and endless war, and in contrast, another view, by underestimating national capability, prescribes the recipe of surrender and accepting the enemy's unilateral conditions.”
He emphasized, “The duality of war or negotiation is not real; rather, one must both fight and negotiate.”
According to Qalibaf, Iran must act powerfully on the battlefield and, at the appropriate time, use field achievements to consolidate gains through diplomacy in order to ultimately achieve deterrence.
Qalibaf, stating that Iran's positions in the diplomatic arena are “clear, rational, and non-negotiable,” said Iran's messages and conditions have been conveyed to the other side through mediators.
He stated, “As long as these conditions are not met, the rights of the Iranian nation are not recognized, and America's commitments are not implemented, there will be no window for returning to the previous conditions of negotiation and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz.”
The Speaker of the Parliament also stated that America's previous order in West Asia has collapsed, and the Islamic countries of the region must play a role in shaping the new order.
He concluded by emphasizing that the country's future path will be determined by “rationality, courage, and struggle,” not by begging.
