AhlulBayt News Agency: Head of Astan Qods Razavi’s Quranic Affairs Center emphasized the decisive and long-term role of the martyred Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in shaping and expanding Iran’s contemporary Quranic movement.
The director of the Quranic Affairs Center of Astan Qods Razavi stated that late Leader Ayat. Khamenei (may God elevate his rank) played a foundational role in strengthening Quranic culture across the country.
Hoj. Mirian explained: “Many of today’s achievements in Quranic education and practice stem from the late Leader’s guidance and expectations”.
“The martyred Leader repeatedly emphasized that Quran should be understood, reflected upon, and applied in building Islamic civilization. Ideas such as a Quran-based modern Islamic civilization and a Quranic lifestyle became major cultural priorities as a result of his vision”, he added.
He highlighted the Leader’s strong support for Quran memorization, particularly the national goal of training ten million memorizers.
He said: “This objective pushed many institutions, including Astan Qods Razavi, to expand programs that promote memorization, understanding, and acting upon Quranic teachings”.
He noted that the “Tahfiz Razavi” program alone has enabled more than one thousand individuals to memorize the Quran.
The cleric stated: “The martyred Leader also strengthened the country’s Quranic infrastructure by supporting the Council for the Development of Quranic Culture, encouraging Quranic programming in national media, backing public Quranic organizations, and promoting the National Plan for Developing Quranic Culture along with dedicated funding”.
He added that Astan Qods Razavi considers itself responsible for contributing to these national efforts.
Hoj. Mirian explained that the Leader’s attention to Quranic competitions, gatherings, and annual meetings with reciters elevated Iran’s Quranic standing globally, adding: “The Leader consistently encouraged reflection, interpretation, and accessible translations of the Quran for all segments of the society”.
He noted that the Leader emphasized grassroots involvement through mosques, religious groups, and volunteer centers, which strengthened local Quranic movements.
The cleric concluded that the martyred Leader’s international outlook framed the Quran as a global charter of justice, freedom, and human dignity, a vision they continue to pursue at Imam Reza Shrine.
