Letter of Protest from Najaf Seminary Students to Guterres Regarding the Attack on Iran's Infrastructure

Today, humanity stands at a crossroads, and any negligence in this critical situation will have dangerous consequences whose effects will reach future generations as well.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): A group of professors and students of the seminaries of Najaf sent a letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations calling for an end to the American attacks on Iran's infrastructure.

The letter is as follows:

To His Excellency António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations

We address this letter to you while following with grave concern the dangerous aggressions against the Islamic Republic by the enemy of nations, the United States, and the usurping Zionist regime, and the resulting bloodshed and violation of civilian facilities. This scene represents a dangerous regression from the most fundamental rules established by international humanitarian law.

What is happening today can only be described as a clear violation of all ethical and legal norms, as vital infrastructure and public facilities are being targeted, which clearly amounts to full-fledged war crimes.

The recent threats to destroy bridges and energy facilities cannot be ignored or justified under any pretext, for these threats demonstrate the height of barbarism and satanic arrogance, revealing the hidden intent to destroy the components of life and directly harm civilians.

These brutal and illegal actions not only threaten a specific country but also undermine the foundations of global security and stability, entailing grave consequences for the future of peaceful coexistence among nations.

The silence of the international community or its failure to take a firm stance will be interpreted as indirect complicity in these crimes, placing the international system before a historical and moral responsibility that cannot be evaded.

Therefore, we call upon you, through your international position, to intervene immediately and effectively within the legal international frameworks to halt this blatant aggression, and to take action to protect civilians and civilian facilities and to prosecute the parties responsible for these violations in accordance with international laws and covenants.

Today, humanity stands at a crossroads, and any negligence in this critical situation will have dangerous consequences whose effects will reach future generations as well.
