The Attack on the Rafi'nia Synagogue Revealed the True Face of Zionism

The representative of the Jewish community in the Iranian Parliament described the attack by the United States and the Zionist regime on the historic Rafi'nia Synagogue as an affront to religion and humanity and an exposure of the great contradiction of those who claim to support people, stating, "Those who claim to support Jews and people targeted the Tehran synagogue, and with this act, the true face of Zionism was revealed."

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Homayoun Sameh Yah Najafabadi, while condemning the attack by the United States and the Zionist regime on the historic Rafi'nia Synagogue, said, "The Jewish community of Iran has always had clear and explicit stances toward the Zionist regime and has condemned the actions of this regime at all times."

Stating that the Jewish community of Iran has never aligned itself with the Zionists, he added, "We have always declared that we detest the actions and crimes of the Zionist regime, and this position is also a shared view of many Jews around the world."

The representative of the Jewish community in the Parliament continued, "What is observed today in the atmosphere of war and tension has created unequal conditions for the people, and it is ordinary people who suffer the most damage—individuals who face fear, anxiety, and insecurity, and among them, children are most exposed to psychological and emotional harm."

Sameh Yah Najafabadi, referring to his own field observations of the effects of such incidents, said, "In cases where I have witnessed firsthand the scenes resulting from attacks, I have seen how children face severe fear and anxiety, cry, and tremble from distress. In such situations, the only effort of those around them is to restore some calm by embracing them."

Emphasizing that claims of supporting the people of Iran or the Jewish community contradict such actions, he stated, "How can one speak of support while simultaneously attacking religious sites and innocent people?"

This member of parliament recalled, "From a human perspective, there is no difference between individuals of different religions and beliefs; being human is the most important principle, and no one should be subjected to violence and such catastrophes because of their beliefs."

The member of the Health and Treatment Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, referring to the timing of this attack, said, "This incident occurred during the holidays—one of the most important and greatest holidays of the Jewish community worldwide, which are days of joy and blessed days. According to religious rulings, during these days, even in the event of a death, holding mourning ceremonies is forbidden. However, this action caused the Jewish community of Iran and even Jews in various parts of the world to be in an atmosphere of grief and sorrow."

Sameh Yah Najafabadi, referring to the significance of the targeted synagogue, recalled, "This synagogue is one of the oldest and historically significant sites in Tehran, where memories of many generations of the Jewish community are recorded. It was built by a segment of the Jewish community, particularly the Jews of Khorasan, and holds special importance."

He emphasized, "The Zionist regime, to achieve its goals, pays no regard to religion, faith, people, or human values, and may even, through its actions, endanger the Jewish community worldwide."

The representative of the Jewish community in the Parliament continued, "The behavior of this regime in various places has increased anti-Semitism in the world, and this issue is one of the serious consequences of its actions. Some believe that such a trend may serve the regime's goals of driving Jews to emigrate to the occupied territories."

Sameh Yah Najafabadi emphasized, "The Jewish community of Iran will remain alongside the Iranian nation under any circumstances, and such actions will not weaken this community but rather double its cohesion and solidarity with other segments of the people. The Jewish community of Iran will maintain its loyalty to the sacred system of the Islamic Republic, the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, and the people of the country."
