AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): The Vatican announced that Pope Leo XIV, in a telephone conversation with Isaac Herzog, the president of the Zionist regime, emphasized the necessity of opening all possible channels for diplomatic dialogue in order to end the ongoing intense conflict and achieve a just and lasting peace throughout the Middle East.
According to a statement from the Holy See's Press Office, the Pope also dedicated special attention in this conversation to the necessity of protecting the civilian population and strengthening respect for international law and humanitarian law.
The telephone call took place on the occasion of Easter, and the Vatican, in its official account, described the main focus of the conversation as an effort to contain the current crisis through diplomacy and to prevent the further spread of tensions in the region.
