Iranian Army, Supreme National Security Council issue condolences over martyrdom of Leader

The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Supreme National Security Council have issued statements offering their condolences after Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, was martyred following an attack by the Zionist regime and the United States on Saturday morning, February 28, 2026.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Supreme National Security Council have issued statements offering their condolences after Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, was martyred following an attack by the Zionist regime and the United States on Saturday morning, February 28, 2026.

The Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a statement on Sunday, emphasized that the path of that martyred leader will continue until the last breath.

The statement further added that the grave crime, with the accompaniment and struggle of the tireless Iranian nation and the powerful presence of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, will not go unanswered.

The Army affirmed its standing as a strong fortress of the nation, at the forefront of defending the independence, territorial integrity, and the sacred system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Separately, the Supreme National Security Council declared that the resilient Iranian nation, the Islamic Ummah, and freedom seekers worldwide are in mourning due to the wicked attacks by criminal America and wicked Zionists.

However, the council warned, cruel enemies and international oppressors must know that the vigilant ones of the world have found their path.

Although these martyrdoms may be grievous for our nation and Islamic nations, they will make them more resistant and determined. Undoubtedly, the martyrdom of that great figure will initiate a great uprising in the fight against the oppressors of the world, the statement added.

The Cabinet has declared 40 days of public mourning and 7 days of holidays following the martyrdom of the Leader of the Revolution.
