AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Amid strike on Iran by Israel and the United States, AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi addressed a press conference expressing strong concern over escalating tensions in the Middle East.
Owaisi stated that any attack on a sovereign nation constitutes a violation of international law and warned that the growing instability in the region poses a
serious threat not only regionally but to global peace.
Key Remarks from Owaisi
- “An attack on any sovereign country is a violation of international law.”
- “The United Nations must immediately intervene and ensure a ceasefire.”
- “India should adopt a balanced and independent foreign policy and take the initiative for peace.”
- “In wars, it is ordinary civilians who suffer the most—not those in power.”
Owaisi emphasized that continued military actions in West Asia could significantly impact the global economy and oil markets. He cautioned that countries like India, which rely heavily on energy imports, could face economic repercussions if tensions escalate further.
India’s Role Under Scrutiny
Calling on the central government to clarify its position, Owaisi urged India to actively promote dialogue and diplomatic solutions. He noted that India has historically followed a non-aligned and dialogue-driven foreign policy approach and should remain committed to those principles.
The Middle East has long experienced friction, particularly involving Iran, Israel, and the United States. Recent developments have further heightened diplomatic concerns worldwide.
Political analysts suggest that Owaisi’s remarks carry domestic political significance as well. By reiterating his party’s stance on issues concerning the Muslim world and advocating for human rights, he reinforced AIMIM’s consistent position on international conflicts affecting West Asia.
