AhlulBayt News Agency: In a vibrant display of spirituality, unity, and hope, Tanzania hosted a major Quranic event to mark the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, emphasizing the central role of the Quran in guiding individual lives and fostering social cohesion.

The event, titled “The Quran Brings Us Together,” was held at the Imam Sadiq Islamic Center in Dar es Salaam. The gathering highlighted the Quran as a source of moral guidance and communal solidarity, serving as a spiritual beacon for believers as they prepare for Ramadan.

Organizers explained that the ceremony aimed to prepare the hearts of the faithful for a renewed period of worship, repentance, and closeness to God. Attendees experienced the recitations in traditional style, delivered by distinguished Quranic reciters, allowing participants to reflect deeply on the divine verses in an atmosphere of serenity, humility, and devotion.

The gathering saw the presence of key religious and community leaders, including Sheikh Hamidi Jalalah, senior leader of the Tanzanian Shia Community (TIC), who served as host and underscored the Quran’s role in fostering ethical behavior and strengthening social bonds.

A special guest, Sheikh Ali Ngeruko, Deputy Chief Qadi for Mainland Tanzania and a member of the BAKWATA Ulama Council, delivered remarks emphasizing the Quran’s pivotal place in Muslim life, particularly during Ramadan, when the recitation and contemplation of its verses are considered essential for spiritual growth.

Participants reflected on the Quran not merely as a text for recitation but as a comprehensive guide for life, bringing believers together under the banners of faith, morality, and communal solidarity. The gathering fostered a renewed sense of devotion and a commitment to enter the holy month with sincere hearts and steadfast intentions.

Organizers described the event as an inspiring prelude to Ramadan, encouraging the faithful to embrace the coming month with spiritual readiness, devotion, and a strengthened connection to the Quran. “This gathering reaffirms that the Quran is both a guide and a unifying force,” Sheikh Jalalah said, “preparing our hearts for the blessings of Ramadan and guiding our communities toward greater harmony and faithfulness.”

The successful Quranic event marked the beginning of Tanzania’s spiritual journey into Ramadan, highlighting the power of shared devotion in promoting moral values and societal unity.
