International News Agency — ABNA — a young American man who had been inclined toward Shia Islam for some time after listening to the lectures of Hojjat al‑Islam Sayyed Mohammad‑Baqir Qazvini, a prominent preacher at Shia centers and the Islamic Center of America, formally embraced Islam on the night of mid‑Sha‘ban. He declared the Shahadatayn and accepted the guardianship of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (a.s.).
