AhlulBayt News Agency: The US Treasury Department announced a new round of sanctions against Iran on Friday, targeting several companies and seven individuals accused of having links to the country.
According to the statement, those listed include Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni as well as businessman Babak Zanjani. The measures were introduced under the administration of President Donald Trump as part of Washington’s broader campaign aimed at what it describes as countering Iran’s destabilizing activities.
According to IRNA, US officials said the sanctions package also covers a number of military-related figures and associated entities. The restrictions typically involve asset freezes and limits on financial transactions under US jurisdiction.
