AhlulBayt News Agency: Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said US economic pressure on Iran are a crime against humanity, shortly after the United States announced higher tariffs on Iran’s economic partners.
“Due to violating the fundamental rights of every single Iranian citizen, the US economic sanctions amount to a crime against humanity,” Baqaei said on Wednesday, holding the sanctioning officials responsible for the consequences of these crimes.
Referring to the “dangerous results of the unilateral coercive measures taken by the United States against the international trade system”, the spokesperson called on the United Nations and its affiliated organizations, especially the UN secretary general, to carry out their duties in protecting the rule of law in the international arena.
