IRGC spokesman slams Trump’s remarks after 12-day war

The IRGC spokesman criticized Donald Trump’s post-war remarks as irrational and rooted in defeat.

AhlulBayt News Agency: In a direct message to U.S. President Donald Trump, the spokesperson for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) urged him to “open his eyes” and stop making “nonsense statements” and acting erratically.

The IRGC spokesman described Trump’s recent remarks as irrational and driven by the heavy defeat the U.S. and Israel suffered during the recent 12-day conflict with Iran.

He declared that the day marked a historic moment for Iran, showcasing national unity, dignity, and resistance. He said the large funeral procession for the martyrs sent a powerful message of strength and gratitude.

The spokesman was referring to the funeral held for Iranians killed in Israeli airstrikes during the conflict.

Addressing Trump again, he repeated his call for the U.S. president to stop his erratic behavior and baseless rhetoric.

He added that the defeat in the war had left Trump confused and reactive, leading to his unmeasured public statements.

The IRGC official emphasized that neither Trump nor the Israeli regime achieved their goals, while Iran’s missile response has been seen as a serious threat to Israel’s existence.

He quoted Iran’s Supreme Leader, saying Trump “speaks bigger than his mouth can handle,” and accused him of trying to distort Iran’s victory with empty words.

The spokesman noted that Israel began its military aggression on June 13, targeting Iran’s military, nuclear, and civilian infrastructure. On June 22, the U.S. joined the attacks by striking nuclear sites in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan.

In response, Iran launched 22 waves of missile strikes under Operation True Promise III, causing significant damage across Israeli-occupied territories.

A ceasefire was declared on June 24, halting the fighting.

Separately, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi posted on X, saying that if Trump truly wants a deal, he must stop using disrespectful language toward Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.

Araghchi stressed that Trump’s tone is offensive to millions of Iranians and must change if any diplomatic progress is to be made.
