Iran to seek reparations for U.S.–Israeli aggression: Araqchi

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, announced that the Islamic Republic is firmly pursuing its right to seek reparations for the damage caused by recent acts of aggression carried out by the United States and Israel.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi, announced that the Islamic Republic is firmly pursuing its right to seek reparations for the damage caused by recent acts of aggression carried out by the United States and Israel.

According to IRNA, in a phone call on Tuesday with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, Araqchi addressed the state of Tehran–Yerevan relations as well as regional developments following what he termed military aggression against Iran. He emphasized that both the international community and the United Nations are responsible for holding Washington and Tel Aviv accountable for violating Iran’s national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and international law.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is seriously pursuing the formal recognition of the aggressors and its right to claim compensation through international institutions,” Araqchi said.

Mirzoyan reaffirmed Armenia’s condemnation of the attacks and expressed support for de-escalation efforts. He welcomed the end of hostilities as a necessary step toward restoring regional stability.

According to the statement, the Israeli assault began on June 13 with targeted strikes that killed several high-ranking Iranian military officials and nuclear scientists. Civilian areas, including residential homes, were also hit, resulting in over 900 fatalities—among them women and children—over a 12-day period.

The United States entered the conflict on June 22, launching airstrikes on Iran’s Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz nuclear facilities. The Iranian Armed Forces responded with retaliatory attacks against strategic targets across Israeli-occupied territories, causing significant damage.

The military confrontation concluded with a ceasefire agreement announced on June 24.
