AhlulBayt News Agency: At least 72 Palestinians were killed and 174 others wounded in the past 24 hours due to fresh Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
These latest casualties bring the total death toll from Israeli attacks since October 7, 2023, to 56,331, with 132,632 others injured.
Gaza’s Government Media Office reported that 549 Palestinians have been killed in the past four weeks while trying to access humanitarian aid.
Additionally, 4,066 people have been injured near aid distribution points operated by the US- and Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).
Hamas condemned the GHF aid system, calling the distribution sites “death traps” meant to enforce starvation and humiliation on Palestinians.
On Friday, Israeli newspaper Haaretz cited soldiers and officers who claimed they were ordered to shoot unarmed Palestinians approaching aid to disperse crowds.
Gaza’s Government Media Office also accused Israel of spreading falsehoods about Hamas controlling aid in northern Gaza.
This came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz claimed Hamas was stealing aid from civilians.
The media office denied the accusations, stating that aid convoys were protected by local families and clans, not political factions.
They emphasized that this was a grassroots effort to provide minimal food to starving civilians.
The office accused Israel of fabricating lies to justify the ongoing blockade of Gaza.
Israel launched its war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, following Hamas’s Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, which was a response to decades of Israeli oppression.
As part of its campaign, Israel has imposed a total blockade on Gaza, aiming to expel Palestinians from the besieged territory.
