AhlulBayt News Agency: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has reaffirmed his country's commitment to preventing any hostile actions against Iran from its territory. Receiving the credentials of Iran's newly appointed ambassador, Mojtaba Damirchilou, on Friday, Aliyev emphasized that Baku will not permit any threats or military moves against Iran to be launched from Azerbaijani soil or airspace. He also condemned the recent Israeli attack on Iran.
According to IRNA, Aliyev congratulated Damirchilou on his new diplomatic mission and voiced Azerbaijan’s interest in strengthening bilateral relations with the Islamic Republic. He noted that President Masoud Pezeshkian’s recent visit to Baku resulted in the signing of key economic agreements, signaling growing cooperation between the two neighboring nations.
For his part, Ambassador Damirchilou underlined the importance of expanding friendly and mutually beneficial relations with Iran’s neighbors, highlighting this as a priority of Tehran’s foreign policy. He pledged to do his utmost to deepen ties between the two countries.
He further criticized Israel’s efforts to destabilize the region, expressing confidence that through vigilance and regional cooperation, such efforts would be thwarted.
