AhlulBayt News Agency: A protest was organized at the historic Chota Imambara in Lucknow under the leadership of Shia cleric Maulana Yasoob Abbas, in response to the recent attacks on Iran by Israel and the United States, and the threats made to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The demonstration was led by Haideri Task Force, an active socio-religious organization of Shia youth. Although a ceasefire has been declared following the war imposed on Iran by Israel, the Haideri Task Force insisted that global resistance against the aggressive policies of the U.S. and Israel must continue.
Maulana Yasoob Abbas condemned the U.S. airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, calling them deeply deplorable. "Waging war in the name of peace is like pouring fuel on fire — it could lead the world to destruction. Leaders like Trump are not advocates of peace but the greatest threats to humanity,” he stated.
He described Israel’s assassination threats against Ayatollah Khamenei as a serious danger to global peace. “Tell your children and future generations that you lived through a time when an 86-year-old elder was defending Islam, while most Islamic nations remained silent in comfort,” he added.
The chairman of the Haideri Task Force called the U.S. and Israeli military actions an attack on the sovereignty of an independent nation. “This is an insult to the entire Muslim Ummah, and we oppose it on every front,” he declared.
Zeeshan Zaidi, General Secretary of the Haideri Task Force, emphasized that this is not merely an attack on a country but an attack on humanity. “The Israeli military is bombing innocent women, children, and the elderly. This is a grave crime against humanity, and those who remain silent are complicit,” he said.
Maulana Yasoob Abbas urged the Indian government to openly condemn the fascist approach of Israel and the United States. He also expressed deep concern over the atrocities being committed against the people of Palestine.
Furthermore, he criticized the silence of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Bahrain, calling it a tacit endorsement of the oppression by Israel and the U.S. “This silence will go down in history as a crime,” he warned.
During the protest, youth chanted spirited slogans and burned flags of the U.S. and Israel. Slogans like “Down with Israel! Long live Iran!” and “Trump is an enemy of humanity!” echoed throughout the demonstration, which saw participation from members of the Shia community as well as several organizations and religious leaders.
