Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has appointed Brigadier General Mohammad Karami as commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (I.R.G.C.) Ground Forces.
The Leader appointed Karami to the post in a decree issued on Thursday, calling on him to work on promoting the capabilities and preparedness of all sections of the I.R.G.C. Ground Force.
Karami succeeds Major General Mohammad Pakpour as commander of the I.R.G.C. Ground Force.
Pakpour was appointed by Ayatollah Khamenei as the I.R.G.C. chief commander after his predecessor Major General Hossein Salami was assassinated in an Israeli strike on June 13 overnight.
Israel also assassinated several more top Iranian military officials alongside nuclear scientists when it began its ongoing aggression that day.
