Gaza Health Ministry reports 400 Palestinians killed seeking aid

The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported 400 Palestinians killed and over 3,000 injured while seeking humanitarian aid since May 27. The death toll from Israeli attacks has reached 55,493. Rights groups warn of war crimes as aid blockages worsen

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported on Tuesday that at least 400 Palestinians have been martyred and over 3,000 injured while attempting to access humanitarian aid since May 27, in what officials describe as a deadly trap orchestrated by Israeli occupation forces (IOF).

The ministry’s daily report raised the overall death toll from the Israeli-led attacks in Gaza to 55,493 martyrs and 129,330 wounded since October 7, 2023.

In the past 24 hours, 61 bodies were brought to Gaza’s hospitals, including six recovered from under the rubble of previously bombed areas. Additionally, 397 people were wounded in ongoing aerial and artillery bombardments, as well as IOF shootings from drones and military vehicles.

The ministry also highlighted the escalating tragedy, reporting that 397 Palestinians have been killed and 3,031 injured since May 27 while trying to obtain aid from humanitarian distribution points established by the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.

These sites, operating without United Nations supervision, have become the scenes of repeated massacres. On Tuesday morning alone, 59 Palestinians were killed and 200 wounded in one such aid-seeking incident.

Since March 18, the reported number of deaths has reached 5,194 martyrs, with 17,279 injured.

The Ministry of Health accuses the IOF of using aid as a tool of control and violence, noting that while aid convoys pile up at Gaza’s sealed border crossings, only a fraction of the 500 trucks per day needed to meet basic humanitarian needs are being allowed in.

The crossings have remained largely closed since March 2, intensifying famine-like conditions across the Strip. International observers and rights groups have repeatedly warned that the deliberate obstruction of aid and targeting of civilians seeking food and water may amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity.
