AhlulBayt News Agency: Russia’s Foreign Ministry has condemned the ongoing Israeli military attacks on Iran as violations of international law, asserting that the path to resolving issues surrounding Tehran’s nuclear program lies solely through diplomatic means.
In a statement released Tuesday via Telegram, the ministry criticized the sustained Israeli strikes on Iran’s peaceful nuclear infrastructure, describing them as unlawful and a serious threat to international security. “Such actions create unacceptable risks and push the world closer to the brink of nuclear catastrophe,” the statement warned.
According to Mehr, the ministry further noted that global condemnation of Israel’s conduct highlights that its support comes only from countries “that are effectively complicit and act out of opportunistic motives.”
Citing Iran’s consistent declarations of adherence to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and its willingness to reengage in diplomatic dialogue with the United States, Moscow stated that Tehran has demonstrated transparency regarding its nuclear intentions.
“Russia welcomes Iran’s position and maintains that a durable solution can only be achieved through negotiations and diplomacy,” the ministry emphasized.
Moscow also called on the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to urgently release a detailed written report with an impartial and transparent evaluation of the damage caused to Iran’s nuclear facilities by the Israeli strikes.
