Pilgrims continue Rami al-Jamarat in Mina as Hajj nears completion

Pilgrims continued the ritual of Rami al-Jamarat in Mina on Sunday, marking the second day of Tashreeq. Saudi officials confirmed that crowd control measures ensured a smooth and safe experience.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Pilgrims continued the ritual of Rami al-Jamarat in Mina on Sunday, marking the second day of Tashreeq as they performed the final stages of Hajj.

Saudi state-run Al-Ekhbariya TV aired live footage showing pilgrims throwing pebbles at the Jamarat site in an orderly manner, with Saudi officials confirming that there was no overcrowding.

The stoning ritual symbolizes Prophet Abraham’s rejection of Satan’s temptations.

Major General Abdullah Al-Quraish, head of Hajj security forces, stated that comprehensive plans were in place to regulate the movement of pilgrims between Mina and the Grand Mosque in Mecca, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Pilgrims are spending three days in Mina for Tashreeq, which started on Saturday and will conclude on Monday. Each day, they cast 21 pebbles before completing their pilgrimage. These rituals follow Friday’s stoning at Jamarat al-Aqaba and Thursday’s spiritual gathering at Arafat.

Saudi Arabia has introduced extensive crowd control measures at the Jamarat facility following past stampedes. Multi-level bridges and scheduled group movements have been implemented to ensure the safety of nearly two million pilgrims.

The six-day Hajj season began on Wednesday, with the final rituals continuing until Monday.

Hajj is a sacred pilgrimage to Mecca that every Muslim who is physically and financially capable must undertake at least once in their lifetime.

The annual pilgrimage is one of the five pillars of Islam and the largest mass religious gathering in the world. It serves as a testament to Muslim unity and submission to Allah.
