AhlulBayt News Agency: The head of Egypt’s National Media Authority has announced plans to establish a Quran Reciters Museum in the country.
Ahmed al-Muslimani stated that the museum will feature photographs, manuscripts, contracts, and recorded recitations of Egyptian qaris.
Various items belonging to or related to prominent Egyptian Quran reciters will be displayed at the museum.
He added that the museum will be affiliated with the Holy Quran Radio Network and will be housed within the Maspero building, the headquarters of Egypt’s National Media Authority.
Al-Muslimani noted that the families of Egypt’s most renowned qaris have been contacted to collect their items for the museum.
Once the collection is organized and prepared for display, the museum will be opened for scheduled visits.
Egypt, located in North Africa, has a population of approximately 100 million, with Muslims making up around 90 percent of the total population.
Quranic activities are widespread in Egypt, and many of the Muslim world’s most celebrated qaris, both past and present, have been Egyptian.
