AhlulBayt News Agency: Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Brigadier General Ali Fadavi, stated that the Persian Gulf has been a battleground for repeated U.S. failures since the 1980s.
Speaking at a ceremony in Bushehr, southern Iran, on Tuesday, Fadavi recalled that the first military setback for the United States in the region occurred during the 1980s, when local commanders displayed remarkable courage in confronting American forces.
“Over the past four decades, we have witnessed the failures of the enemies of the Islamic Revolution. Even American officials have repeatedly acknowledged these setbacks,” he asserted.
According to IRNA, Fadavi called on U.S. authorities to recognize and inform younger generations that the Persian Gulf has historically been a site of their defeats, with no successful operations against the Resistance Front.
He attributed this trend to the unwavering faith and resilience of the Iranian nation, which has remained steadfast in its commitment to the Islamic Revolution for more than four decades.
In recent weeks, U.S. President Donald Trump stirred controversy by proposing to rename the Persian Gulf. Reports indicate that he had considered announcing this during his state visit to Saudi Arabia last week, but ultimately refrained from doing so.
