AhlulBayt News Agency: Israeli media reported on Sunday that 11 Israeli soldiers refused to enter the Gaza Strip for combat, citing extreme exhaustion. As a result, they now face the threat of military imprisonment.
According to the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation, these infantry soldiers recently submitted a request to their battalion commander, explaining that they were too exhausted from the prolonged combat operations since the start of the ground maneuver.
In response, the commander threatened them with 20 days in military prison for disobeying a direct order.
The soldiers wrote a letter to their commanders, stating: “We’ve been through 17 rounds of entry into Gaza, numerous operational incidents, months of intense fighting, and we’ve lost comrades.”
They further added: “We’re past our official discharge date and are serving under emergency reserve orders (Tzav 8). We’ve done everything we could – we’re mentally unable to go back into the Strip.”
