Nakba Day: Protest in Karachi, people chanted against Israel and America

A protest was organized outside the Karachi Press Club on the occasion of Palestinian Nakba Day by the National Solidarity Council Sindh and the Palestine Foundation Pakistan.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Hundreds of citizens participated in the demonstration and raised their voices against the illegal occupation of Palestine and the 77th anniversary of the creation of Israel.

The protest was led by Asadullah Bhutto, President of National Solidarity Council Sindh, and Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam, Secretary General of Palestine Foundation Pakistan. Protesters carried banners and placards with slogans supporting the right of return for Palestinians and declaring Israel an illegitimate state. Many also held symbolic keys, representing the Palestinian right of return.

Among those who addressed the gathering were: Former MNA Mohammad Hussain Mehnati, Allama Qazi Ahmad Noorani, Ahmad Nadeem Awan, Allama Baqir Zaidi, Allama Murtaza Rahmani, Israr Abbasi, Younus Bunerie, former MPA Major (R) Qamar Abbas, Allama Jafar Subhani, Pastor Emmanuel, Allama Ameen Ansari, Maulana Muhammad Qasim, and several others.

The speakers stated that a new "Nakba" is being inflicted on Palestinians every day in Gaza, while global leaders remain silent spectators. They strongly condemned the recent remarks made during former U.S. President Donald Trump’s visits to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE, where Israel's recognition was discussed.

The leaders called on Muslim rulers to not only refuse recognition of Israel but also to cut off all diplomatic ties and extend all possible support to Palestinians — political, moral, and if necessary, armed.

They praised Pakistan's armed forces, saying they had given a firm and fitting response to U.S. and Israeli-backed India, proving Pakistan knows how to defend against aggression.

They further demanded that legal action be taken against Pakistani citizens who travel to Israel and issue statements against Pakistan and Palestine. They asserted that no one in Pakistan would be allowed to insult the ideology of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

It is noteworthy that National Solidarity Council Sindh had announced the observance of "Ten Days of Nakba" from May 7 to May 16, during which various pro-Palestine programs are being held across the country. May 16 has been declared as Black Day, with protests against the atrocities committed by the U.S. and Israel.
