Iran’s UN envoy condemns ongoing Nakba and Israeli atrocities

Iran’s UN ambassador, Amir Saeid Iravani, condemned Israel’s continued aggression against Palestinians, calling Nakba Day the beginning of decades of injustice. He accused Israel and the US of spreading misinformation and criticized the international community’s inaction.

AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, has stated that Nakba Day was not the end of catastrophe but rather the beginning of decades of displacement, occupation, and systemic injustice against the Palestinian people.

Speaking on Thursday at a UN commemoration marking the 77th anniversary of the Nakba, Iravani highlighted the ongoing suffering of Palestinians since their forced expulsion in 1948. He condemned Israel’s continued aggression, supported by the United States, which has targeted hospitals, schools, women, children, UN staff, and journalists in Gaza.

Iravani emphasized that evidence of Israeli crimes is undeniable, with international courts fully aware of the extent of the atrocities. He cited footage of Israeli attacks on a Palestinian hospital on May 13, 2025, as further proof of the ongoing Nakba and the immense suffering endured by Palestinians.

The Iranian envoy accused Israel and its supporters of spreading misinformation to undermine Palestinian rights and distort reality. He condemned the hypocrisy of those who speak of peace and human rights while enabling violence and suppression.

Iravani asserted that Israel and its allies are responsible for regional instability, displacing millions of Palestinians and causing widespread suffering. He criticized the international community for failing to stop Israeli attacks, noting that Israel continues its crimes under the illusion that the world will ignore them.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s military campaign in Gaza has killed over 53,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured nearly 120,000 others. Despite accepting ceasefire terms proposed by Hamas on January 19, Israel unilaterally broke the truce on March 18 and resumed its relentless bombing of Gaza.
