AhlulBayt News Agency: India has launched a comprehensive diplomatic outreach to highlight its strong stance against terrorism following its military strikes on Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir earlier this month.
The initiative, which aims to mobilize international support and reinforce national unity, will involve sending seven all-party delegations to key global capitals, the Indian government announced on Saturday.
The delegations will include members from both the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and opposition parties to present a unified stance on the issue.
The decision follows Indian military strikes, which were conducted in response to a deadly terrorist attack in Indian-administered Kashmir on April 22, where at least 26 civilians—including many tourists—were killed.
The Indian government attributed the attack to Pakistan-based elements, stating that Operation Sindoor targeted terrorist hideouts. However, Pakistan has repeatedly denied any involvement in the incident.
A series of reciprocal strikes took place over three days, involving missile and drone operations. Pakistan reported 51 casualties from Indian attacks, while India claimed that Pakistani strikes killed at least 20 people.
This confrontation marked the first direct military engagement between the two nations in decades, before a ceasefire agreement was brokered on May 10, offering a brief reprieve from hostilities.
Regarding the upcoming diplomatic push, the Indian government stated that India is determined to send a strong message about its commitment to counterterrorism efforts.
"The All-Party delegations will showcase India’s national consensus and firm approach in combating terrorism in all forms," read an official statement.
The delegations are set to deliver a firm message of zero tolerance towards terrorism during visits to the United States, the UK, Japan, and other key global partners later this month.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commented on the situation, advocating for peaceful dialogue to address long-standing tensions.
"Without resolving our disputes, peace in this part of the world remains unattainable," Sharif stated.
Sharif also praised Pakistan’s military response, referring to it as a "golden chapter" in the country's military history.
