IRGC unveils high-speed missile boat reaching 215 km

The IRGC Navy has introduced a high-speed missile boat with a top speed of 116 knots, marking a major advance in Iran’s maritime capabilities. Commander Tangsiri emphasized regional security and self-reliance, unveiling the Shahid Soleimani-class vessel capable of 5,000-mile non-stop journeys.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has unveiled a groundbreaking advancement in its naval technology with the development of a high-speed missile boat that can reach 116 knots (approximately 215 km/h). This marks a significant leap forward in Iran’s maritime capabilities.

Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, Commander of the IRGC Navy, announced on Wednesday that the missile-launching vessel has successfully passed all technical and specialized tests. “We have built a missile-launching vessel that has a speed of 116 knots, the land equivalent of 215 kilometers per hour, and it has completed all required tests,” he stated.

Highlighting the IRGC’s self-sufficiency, Tangsiri noted that the organization manufactures its own vessels, missiles, drones, and sub-surface systems. He emphasized their dedication to ensuring the security of the Persian Gulf, saying, “We work tirelessly day and night to guarantee regional safety.”

Reflecting on Iran’s progress, the commander remarked that prior to the Islamic Revolution, Iran lacked the capability to build even small fishing boats, relying on American companies for their construction. In contrast, the IRGC Navy has now developed the Shahid Soleimani-class vessel, equipped with cutting-edge technology and capable of traveling up to 5,000 nautical miles non-stop in open waters.
