AhlulBayt News Agency: The Al-Azhar Observatory for Combating Extremism commended the swift response of Iranian authorities in dismissing two IRIB executives for disrespecting Sunni Muslim sanctities.
In a Facebook post, the Al-Azhar Observatory described the action as a constructive step, reflecting Iran's firm stance against inflammatory remarks and its commitment to reducing factors that lead to discord among Muslims.
The observatory also highlighted that Al-Azhar's leader, Sheikh Ahmed al-Tayeb, emphasized the importance of avoiding any offense to Islamic sanctities during the recent Islamic-Islamic Dialogue conference held in Bahrain.
Furthermore, the observatory reiterated the necessity of respecting the sanctities of all Islamic denominations, promoting prudence, and preventing actions that could cause division and conflict.
Iranian authorities have taken action by dismissing multiple IRIB officials and filing lawsuits against eight staff members over a live television program that insulted Sunni Muslim beliefs earlier this week.
In its official statement, the IRIB affirmed the critical value of Islamic unity and condemned divisive acts, calling for a thorough investigation by security agencies to identify the root causes and individuals responsible for this incident.
