AhlulBayt News Agency: The Hamas Movement called for an immediate response to the calls of humanitarian organizations and United Nations rapporteurs, the latest of which the UNRWA’s warnings of a catastrophic famine looming in the Gaza Strip.
Hamas said in a statement on Friday that “the fascist Israeli government continues to commit its crime of blockade and total closure on the Gaza Strip for the 27th consecutive day, completely preventing the entry of basic humanitarian materials such as food, fuel and medicine, which exacerbates the humanitarian disaster created by its criminal war machine.”
It pointed out that “the ongoing brutal massacres in the Gaza Strip, the use of starvation as a systematic weapon, the prevention of the entry of the basic life essentials, as well as the explicit statements of the terrorist occupation officials confirming the targeting of civilians and infrastructure, constitute a full-fledged genocide in accordance with international law, committed in full view of the whole world.”
Hamas called on the international community, Arab and Islamic countries, and human rights and humanitarian organizations to take urgent and effective action to pressure Israel to lift the siege and stop the brutal aggression against more than two million people in the Gaza Strip, who are suffering under criminal policies backed by the US administration.
The Movement renewed its appeal to the Arab and Islamic peoples and the free people of the world to take action in all fields and by all possible means to support the steadfast people in the Gaza Strip.
“Let the coming days be days of mobilization and anger, witnessing the widest mass activities to pressure for halting the ongoing aggression against innocent civilians and to hold the Israeli occupation officials accountable before international courts for committing crimes against humanity,” Hamas concluded.
