Al-Nujaba official: US involved in attack on Iraqi Prime Minister’s residence

Sheikh al-Asadi stressed that all the evidence points to the involvement of the United States in the attack on Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi’s residence and called for the closure of the American embassy and the expulsion of its ambassador from Iraq.

AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Sheikh al-Asadi stressed that all the evidence points to the involvement of the United States in the attack on Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi’s residence and called for the closure of the American embassy and the expulsion of its ambassador from Iraq.

According to the Communication and Media Affairs Centre of al-‎Nujaba in Iran‎, Sheikh Ali al-Asadi, the head of the political council of the al-Nujaba Islamic Resistance Movement, called the attack on the Prime Minister’s residence an attempt to plunge Iraq into an abyss of internal crisis, which would have dangerous consequences for the country.

Sheikh al-Asadi stated that “all the proofs and signs indicate that the American embassy is involved in this incident,” noting that the American military base in Baghdad’s Green Zone, known as an embassy, did not engage in confrontation with drones or missiles despite having an air defence system (C-RAM).

He said identifying and prosecuting the perpetrators of the attack required the formation of impartial committees to prevent the manipulation of criminal evidence.

The head of the political council of al-Nujaba concluded, “If, as expected, the evil American embassy is responsible for this attack, the seditionist ambassador of the United States should be expelled from Iraq.”
