The opposition parties held a mass protest march in Sitra on 28 June, entitled, “The rule of the people”. In the final communiqué, they stressed that provoking the people by attacking their holy places will cost the country a lot, and such practices cannot be carried out by one who cares for the unity of all Bahrainis.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The National Democratic Opposition Parties in Bahrain stated that the regime has gone too far in its attacks against the holy places and mosques. This a dangerous violation that reveals the regime carries a hostile doctrine which is motivated by retaliation and repression in face of the national democratic demands. The opposition parties warned the Bahrainis of listening to voices that attempt to start conflict between the people that had long been known for acceptance of coexistence and pluralism. The opposition parties said the regime is trying to elude from the political entitlements represented in the democratic transition demanded by the political majority. The regime intends to use the national wealth and official institutions to serve personal interests. This is indicated by stripping citizens of their citizenship in an illegal and inhumane way, and this reflects hostility and oppression on factional basis. The opposition parties also condemned the ongoing and increasing home raids and arrests. This proves that the suppressive mentality is still conducting acts on terror and repression to punish the citizens for their demands of democratic transition. The regime’s aggressive behavior cannot silence the people who insist on their rightful demands.Statement issued by the National Democratic Opposition PartiesManama- 28th June 2013/129
