Through coordination with Ardh El-Qudos Architectural Company, the Architectural Division of the Holy Shrine began the establishment of a tunnel which leads up to the Sanctuary of Imam Hussein (Peace Be Upon Him).
The motive behind this project is to ease the movement of the millions of pilgrims who arrive at the city of Kerbala during heavy pilgrimages.
The tunnel is approximately 900 meters in length and 7 meters deep; and will be geared with the latest technology such as elevator, escalators, and other modern advancements.
