Iran: 20th Century’s Outstanding Female Theologian to be Revered

An international conference will be held inTehran in reverence to Lady Amin, the most outstanding female jurisprudent and theologian, on Wednesday February 6.

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The conference will be held in the presence of academia from 15 countries.

Ayatollah Haeri Shirazi, Abdolhussein Khosropanah, head of the Research Institute of Iran Philosophy and Wisdom, Ayatollah Akhtari, Secretary General of Ahlolbeit Community, and a number of other prominent Islamic figures will attend the ceremony.

A number of papers have been submitted to the seminar by Iranian and foreign thinkers and researchers with focus on philosophy, Lady Amin’s life and her scientific and religious greatness.

The conference is aimed at introduction of Lady Amin to the society.

Hajiyeh Seyyedeh Nosrat Begum Amin (also known as Banu Amin, Nosrat Amin, Lady Amin 1886–1983‎) was Iran's most outstanding female jurisprudent and theologian of the 20th century, a Lady Mujtahideh.

She wrote several books about Islamic sciences, among them a tafsir in 15 volumes, and established a maktab in Isfahan in 1965, called Maktab-e Fatimah.
