(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - ˈWe are the followers of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in this field and believe any move made in line with his guidance is approved by the nation, and God willing our negotiators, too, feel committed to this rule,ˈ he said in his second sermon, addressing thousands of Tehrani worshippers.
He said that if any success is achieved in these talks it is indebted to the patience of the nation, adding, ˈThe grandeur of this nation would beyond doubt be achieved through the passage of resistance, and not merely at the negotiation table in talks with enemies who donˈt see anything, but their own interests, and donˈt understand anything, but the language of force.
ˈAccordingly, the expediency of the country and the system dictate us to promote the culture of resistance, because if the enemy would observe the slightest bit of weakness in us, it would proceed,ˈ said Khatami.
He reminded the days that the westerners were not agreed with the existence of even two or three centrifuges in Iran, saying, ˈBy grace of God, resistance of the people, and the efforts made by the Iranian scientists and technicians, today 19,000 centrifuges are running in Iran.ˈ
He said that the Iranian people and officials do trust their nuclear negotiating team, and all the same advise them to be more cautious, but to the same extent they distrust America and some western countries, arguing, ˈThat is because as the Qurˈan has stated: They do not honor the treaties and pacts, and their god is their interests.ˈ
He said that the officials should not rest assured as soon as signing a deal, as the other side would observe a little lenience to take them by surprise, as the westerners are not trustworthy.
ˈNo agreement has been signed yet, and this deal is only a communiqué, in which they have yielded to Iranˈs enrichment right, and yet, even before the Iranian team got back to Tehran, the US secretary of state said that they had not accepted the enrichment issue.ˈ
He also criticized the US president for often repeating the infamous military option on the table rhetoric, and the US secretary of state for his frequent visits of Tel Aviv, the center of anti-Islamic plots and ploys.
An agreement has been reached between Iran and six world powers to curb Tehranˈs nuclear program in exchange for limited sanctions relief.
