(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Three men and a police officer have been stabbed at a mosque in Birmingham in England. The officer was attacked after he responded to reports that three men had been stabbed inside the mosque in the Ward End area of the city.
The incident began during the final prayer session of the evening.
The four men are being treated in hospital for their wounds and are described as "stable".
A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in custody. Dr Arshad Mahmood, who was at the mosque, said: "A man started stabbing one of the guys who was just sitting right next to him, reported BBC.
"I don't know what exactly was the reason but he just started stabbing him. We went to save him. He had multiple injuries, three or four wounds. Then the policeman came and was also attacked and stabbed."
Massoud Shadjareh, chairman of IHRC, said: "Muslims feel scared right now and it is completely understandable.", reported Mirror News.
"Muslims have been physically attacked, mosques burnt down, cemeteries vandalised and social media is full of anti-Muslim hatred and violent threats towards Muslims. More needs to be done to protect the Muslim community." said Shadjareh.
