The First SermonIn the first sermon, His Eminence, Sayyed Ali Fadlullah, commemorated the death anniversary of Lady Fatima Az-Zahraa (a.s). He talked about the love she naturally had to her father and the sadness she experienced after his death. The Sayyed rejected the idea that her sadness was so emotional and intense that her crying turned into a problem which drove people to resort to Imam Ali to find a solution to it.Executing the will of her father, her sadness was like that of a patient and steadfast believer, which did not prevent her from continuing the struggle for the cause of Islam. She is a role model for all Muslims, especially the wives and mothers of martyrs who should not let their grief distort or impede their role in life. She stood with her husband Imam Ali (a.s.) and backed his decision to maintain peace when his right was usurped, but she also showed her discontent regarding what was happening, which was against the interests of Islam. She defended her right in Fadak, being an issue of rejecting injustice and not a personal right. In short, lady As-Zahraa was a role model of patience and struggle for the cause for every woman, be she a wife, mother or sister, and a role model for all mankind.Peace be upon her the day she was born, the day she passed away and the day she will be brought back to life. The second sermonIn the second sermon, His Eminence, Sayyed Ali Fadlullah, noted that the Arab and Muslim worlds are plunged into a state of instability as a result of the internal challenges and external threats and interferences. In Iraq, the political tension that is being labeled as sectarian continues, without any glimpse of hope for a solution so far. The Sayyed called on the Iraqi leaders once again to meet and surpass all sectarian and political considerations or interests to ensure the country’s stability and welfare. In Syria, where the blood shedding that would destroy the entire county and all the parties goes on, and that would not end before weakening all parties so as to impose a solution that pours in the interest of the Zionist enemy… the Sayyed called all political parties to act swiftly to end the vicious circle of blood and destruction. The Sayyed warned from the repercussions of the Syrian crisis on Lebanon. He appealed to the government to shoulder its responsibility of protecting its citizens, and called on the people to consolidate their internal unity. He also called for catering for the Syrian refugees whose number is continuously increasing. On another level, the Sayyed feared that there might be some individuals who are not in a hurry to form the government before things become clear in the region. The Sayyed slammed this approach that has been tried and failed several times. He expressed his belief that the country, with all the parties that are contending in it, is bound to adopt reconciliation. The Sayyed also demanded the Lebanese state to shoulder its responsibility towards the Lebanese who are held hostages in Syria, refusing to blame the families of the kidnapped for taking out to the streets. In the end, the Sayyed condemned the explosions that targeted innocent people in Boston, USA, hoping that this incident will be a chance for America to reconsider and review its policies towards the downtrodden peoples, since this is, in the end, what could provide security all over the world./129
